Kusanagi does not let us feel the harsh, biting cold, even though it is clear that it has to be a cold night. The viewers perception might even be a warm and romantic one. His pictures show a world similar to ours, but in many ways more intruiging, beatiful. The pictures he makes of water, air, firework, snow, ... seem no longer to be our reality, but something only existing in dreams.
